Studying in Germany

Germany is a top destination for international students, attracting around three million students from abroad. German universities are highly sought after for their excellent education quality, cutting-edge research opportunities, strong ties to industry, and practical learning experiences that enhance students’ job prospects.

While most public universities in Germany offer tuition-free education, students in Baden-Württemberg are required to pay 1,500 € per semester. On average, students should budget between 900 € and 1,300 € per month for living expenses.

Foreign students studying at German universities are permitted to work up to 120 full days or 240 half days per year without needing an additional work permit. This allowance is specified on the residence permit sticker in their passport.
